Billie Eilish
“The Avril Lavigne for people born after 2009” as some might say. Billie Eilish is only 17 years old and dominating the pop music industry. I would describe her style of music as sad, creepy, electric pop. They first song of hers I heard was “Ocean Eyes” which was also the first song she ever released, and I immediatly fell in love. Billies voice is so effortless, she can hit both high and low notes, and her voice is so soothing and dreamy. Then in 2017 she released her first ep don’t smile at me. This ep is what really made me fall in love with her. The songs have such great beats and melodies, but even if Billie sang over the sound of a chainsaw I would like it. Her voice is that good. She relased a few more singles in 2017-18 called “Bored”, “bitches broken hearts”, “lovely”, ” come out and play”, “when the partys over”, and “wish you were gay.” Those last two singles were on her first album which came out at the end of March 2019 called WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? which turned out to be one of my favorite albums ever. I remember the exact moment that “when the partys over” dropped, and I started crying immediatly. I was going through a break up at the time and that song hit me really hard. I saw Billie at Camp Flog Gnaw in Nov. 2018, and she sounds exactly the same in person. Her voice leves me speachless everytime, and to see her in real life was so amazing. My top 5 favorite Billie songs are: 1. “when the partys over” 2. “bitches broken hearts” 3. “Bored” 4. “xanny” 5. “idontwannabeyouanymore.”
