Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, or Lorde is yet another powerful young woman making her mark in the pop music scene. I’ve been in love with Lorde since forever. I remember when her first single “Royals” came out in 2012 and I immedialty became obsessed. I then awaited her album Pure Heroine which dropped in September of 2013. That album has absolutley no flaws and I listened to it on repeat for months. Lorde has a way with lyrics that is so interesting and special and makes you want to know more. She uses catchy but very different beats than your usual pop singer/songwriter. After this ground breaking album Lorde was off the music scene for quite a while. After a long waut Lorde dropped her second album Melodrama. I personally don’t think this album is as good as her first as a whole, but specific songs on it are definitley better than her previous. Most of the songs on this album were much more pop-y than the first, but I think lyrically this album is better. I pray that one day she will drop more music and I will get to see her perform live.
